Travel That Gives Back

At CX CARES, we believe travel has the power to create meaningful change in the communities we visit. Through disaster relief, community outreach, school restoration, and hands-on service projects, we bring travel advisors, industry partners, donors, and volunteers together to support communities around the world.

From delivering essential supplies to families recovering from hurricanes to rebuilding schools and creating resources for children and families, every mission is an opportunity to show up, lend a hand, and make a lasting difference. Explore the projects below and see what happens when the travel industry comes together with purpose.

Creating a Brighter Place to Learn

Through the incredible generosity of CX CARES donors and volunteers, more than $21,000 was raised to transform a local school in the Dominican Republic.

The project focused on creating a safer, brighter, and more welcoming environment for the children who learn there. Volunteers supported critical building repairs and classroom improvements while also providing backpacks and school supplies for every child.

But the impact went far beyond the physical improvements. By coming together to invest in the school and its students, CX CARES sent a powerful message to the entire community: you matter, your children matter, and you are not forgotten.

What began as a day of service became an investment in education, opportunity, and the future of a community.

First Response to Hurricane Melissa

November 11–13, 2025 | Westmoreland, Jamaica

Showing Up When It Mattered Most

In the immediate aftermath of Hurricane Melissa, five CX CARES volunteers traveled to Westmoreland, Jamaica, carrying suitcases packed with essential relief supplies for communities devastated by the storm.

Working alongside the team at Reggae Tours, volunteers delivered food, hygiene supplies, batteries, water purification tablets, diapers, and other critical necessities to families beginning the difficult process of recovery.

In the days following a disaster, even the smallest essentials can make an enormous difference. But this mission was about more than the supplies we carried. It was about showing up, standing alongside our partners and neighbors, and reminding communities facing unimaginable challenges that they were not alone.

This first response marked the beginning of CX CARES' ongoing commitment to supporting Westmoreland as the community rebuilt and recovered.

Delivering Christmas Hope

December 15–17, 2025 | Westmoreland, Jamaica

Bringing Christmas and Hope to Families in Need

Just weeks after Hurricane Melissa devastated communities across Westmoreland, Jamaica, CX CARES Changemakers returned with a different kind of mission: to bring a little Christmas magic to families who had been through so much.

Volunteers arrived with suitcases filled with food, blankets, tarps, solar-powered chargers, batteries, and most importantly, Christmas gifts for children and families. With the invaluable support of the Reggae Tours team, aid and holiday gifts were delivered throughout Shrewsbury, Bethel Town, and Darliston.

This mission was about more than disaster relief. It was about giving children something to smile about during an incredibly difficult season and reminding families that they had not been forgotten.

For a community still facing the long road to recovery, a Christmas gift may seem like a small thing. The joy it brought and the message behind it was anything but small.

Sometimes hope arrives in a suitcase, wrapped as a gift and carried by people who simply wanted their neighbors to know they were cared for.

Assessing the Need, Building the Vision

January 11–13, 2026 | Westmoreland, Jamaica

From Relief to a Vision for Rebuilding

CX CARES returned to Westmoreland, Jamaica, for its first joint mission with Beach Bum CARES, continuing to support communities still recovering from Hurricane Melissa.

Volunteers delivered essential supplies including food, solar power packs, diapers, bedding, blankets, tarps, batteries, and water purification supplies to families throughout Darliston, Shrewsbury, and Bethel Town.

But this mission marked an important turning point.

For the first time, volunteers visited Shrewsbury Logwood Early Childhood Institution to see firsthand what the school and its students needed. The team assessed the damage, listened to the community, and began developing a vision for what restoration could look like.

What began as another relief mission became the starting point for something much bigger: a long-term commitment to help rebuild a school, create a better environment for children to learn, and invest in the future of the surrounding community.

Rebuild & Rise

May 29–30, 2026 | Westmoreland, Jamaica

Turning a Vision Into Action

Just four months after first visiting Shrewsbury Logwood Early Childhood Institution and assessing what the school needed, 29 volunteers from CX CARES and Beach Bum CARES returned to Westmoreland for our largest mission to date.

The two-day mission combined continued community relief with hands-on restoration work. Volunteers delivered essential aid to Darliston, an orphanage in Westmoreland, the Negril Spay Neuter Clinic, and Shrewsbury, while dedicating two full days to restoring the early childhood institution.

At the school, volunteers cleared debris, removed termite-damaged walls, painted classrooms, refurbished playground equipment and furniture, improved the school grounds, and installed Legacy Tiles honoring the supporters who helped make the project possible.

Working alongside local families, teachers, and children, the team witnessed firsthand the pride and resilience of a community determined to rebuild.

Rebuild & Rise was more than a renovation project. It was an investment in children, education, and the future of an entire community. And the work continues as CX CARES works toward the goal of seeing Shrewsbury Logwood Early Childhood Institution ready to welcome students back through its doors.

Coming Together for La Aldea

October 1, 2026 | Cancún, Mexico

When the Travel Industry Comes Together, Communities Benefit

More than 100 travel advisors and industry partners came together in Cancún to support La Aldea Community Center, turning a day of service into a lasting investment in the local community.

Working alongside La Aldea, volunteers helped create a dedicated kitchen area with a cement floor, roof, sink, and stovetop, giving the community center the ability to prepare meals and serve food onsite. Volunteers also painted throughout the center and sorted donated clothing for the community boutique.

But the most memorable moment came at the end of the day, when the children arrived.

Their excitement, energy, and smiles brought the purpose of the work into focus. What may have looked like a kitchen, a fresh coat of paint, or neatly organized clothing was something much bigger It was a space created to feed, support, and serve the community for years to come.

For CX CARES, that's what giving back is all about: coming together, lending a hand, and leaving a community a little stronger than we found it.
